At Right Angles is a magazine on mathematics for school teachers and educators, at the foundational, preparatory, and middle school levels in India.
At Right Angles provides quality mathematics learning resources for school teachers. It intends to facilitate more experiential and meaningful teaching-learning processes, not just inside the classrooms but also in the broader context of school processes. To celebrate purposeful and passionate teaching, At Right Angles showcases practical insights grounded in the realities of India and its diverse communities.
To help teachers teach better so that students can learn better, we have taken our cues from the Mathematics section in the National Curriculum Framework (NCF-SE) 2023. We address the challenges teachers face in pedagogy and classroom processes, considering both the local context of the teacher and the school environment.

Sneha Titus
Sneha Titus is Chief Editor of At Right Angles, which she has been associated with since its inception. She enjoys engaging in both language and mathematics. She has contributed to the Class 4 and 5 Sikkim Mathematics textbooks and to the designing of assessment for several age groups.
Sneha holds a master’s degree in mathematics and taught higher secondary school mathematics for several years. She contributed to the 2005 Class 11 NCERT mathematics textbook. Her current interests include learning more about computational thinking as well as exploring connections between craft and mathematics.

Ajaykumar K
Ajaykumar K is a faculty member in the Mathematics programme at Azim Premji University, Bengaluru. He teaches a variety of mathematics courses and courses on pedagogy of mathematics to B.Sc. and B.Sc.-B.Ed. students. He has served as editor for At Right Angles since November 2023.[Full Profile]
Arddhendu Shekhar Dash
Arddhendu Shekhar Dash is the principal of Azim Premji School, Dhamtari. Prior to this, he was a Resource Person at Azim Premji Foundation. He has been closely working with teachers on issues related to the pedagogy of Mathematics.
Arddhendu has an M.Sc. in Mathematics from Utkal University, Vani Vihar, Bhubaneswar. and conducts workshops focusing on conceptual understanding as well as on pedagogical strategies used in teaching mathematics. He has been doing mathematics with children for more than 8 years and is deeply interested in exploring and designing tech resources. He is also engaged in the process of designing curriculum for Open Distance Learning and writing textbooks for Chhattisgarh.
Ashok Prasad
Ashok Prasad has been associated with Azim Premji Foundation since 2012, contributing to teacher training, curriculum development, and teaching resource material development. Previously, he served as a middle-school Mathematics and Science teacher. His articles have been published in At Right Angles and Pathshala Bheetar Baahar.
Ashok has also taught Applied Mathematics and Pharmaceutical Mathematics at polytechnic and pharmacy levels.
Debabrata Saha
Debabrata Saha is currently working in Azim Premji Foundation as the district coordinator of Pali, Rajasthan. He has worked closely with the primary and middle school mathematics teachers through various teachers’ capacity-building programs. His contributions include the development of mathematics workbooks for students, as well as handbooks and resources for primary and middle school mathematics teachers and teacher educators.
Debabrata began his journey with the Foundation in 2014 through its Fellowship program. With a background in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from BESU, Shibpur (now IIEST, Shibpur), he spent four years working as an Electronics engineer before transitioning into the field of education.
Kshama Chakravarthy
Kshama Chakravarthy is a dedicated educator with over 15 years of experience in mathematics education. Her work spans content development, teaching, teacher training, student interviews, and assessment design.
Kshama holds master’s degrees in mathematics from IIT Madras, and in Education from Azim Premji University. She conducts engaging math workshops—both online and offline—for children aged 6 to 12, using stories, puzzles, games, and hands-on activities to spark curiosity and build mathematical thinking. Deeply passionate about working with young minds, she enjoys spending time with toddlers and being in nature.
Padmapriya Shirali
PADMAPRIYA SHIRALI is part of the Community Math Centre based in Valley School (Bangalore) and Rishi Valley (AP). She was part of the team that created the multigrade elementary learning programme of the Rishi Valley Rural Centre, known as ‘School in a Box.’ She is currently part of the NCERT textbook development group.
Since 1983, Padmapriya has taught a variety of subjects – mathematics, computer applications, geography, economics, environmental studies and Telugu. In the 1990s, she worked closely with the late Shri P K Srinivasan.
Rudresha S
Rudresha S has been with Azim Premji Foundation since 2003. He is currently State Head responsible for Karnataka and Puducherry. He worked closely with the department of education and literacy, Govt. of Karnataka.
Rudresha is part of many state level committees which worked on teachers’ development and the revision of school curriculum and learning resources. He is part of the Education Committee which was formed by the Govt. of Karnataka to improve the education outcomes in Kalyana Karnataka region.
Sandeep Diwakar
Sandeep Diwakar did his master’s in mathematics and his Ph.D. in Education. He has been associated with the development of SCF, textbooks, training modules etc. for teacher educators, teachers and children and is a member of Textbook review committee NCERT, New Delhi.
Sandeep has been associated with Azim Premji Foundation, Bhopal, M.P. since 2012. He has been serving as editor for At Right Angles since March 2020. Previously, he worked with Rajya Shiksha Kendra (SCERT), Madhya Pradesh, for 15 years as a lecturer (Mathematics).
Shantha Bhushan
Shantha Bhushan is an associate professor at Azim Premji University since 2015. She is interested in mathematics, mathematics education and the environment.
